Here is how I improved my poker game, and why I want to share it with you

Dear fellow online poker player,

I wrote this strategy guide for my wife who wanted to learn how to play, and win playing in pokerstars' ZOOM tables. She did not have the time to learn how to play from scratch. All she wanted was something that will tell her what to do in a given situation.

I made this guide for the ZOOM tables simple and easy to use--for my wife, and for everyone else. It is ideal for beginning poker players.

To use the guide while playing, all you have to do is to click on the text that corresponds to your hole cards, and the approximate situation that you have on the table.

How has this strategy worked for me so far?

I have been using and refining this online poker strategy since 2010. These are the results I've had from January to March 2012, and last year...

This poker strategy guide is only a beginner's guide to a more effective play at the micro-stakes table. I DO NOT guarantee in any way that you are going to get the same results that I had.

This guide is not the holy grail to winning online poker. This strategy also has its weak points and can be exploited. Whenever I find myself in a table and villain is catching on to how I play, I simply move to a different table where I have better position.

Proven over the years
This strategy guide will not clutter your desktop while you play. It helps beginning poker players to learn how to act and react to some of the tougher spots on the table. When villain does this, you do that. It is based on the pot control theory for winning poker... "Small hand, small pot. Big hand, big pot."

This strategy guide is written in the format of a flow chart. Click on one branch, and it will open up subsequent branches. Simple and easy.

This makes it easy for you to find the information you need with just a few mouse clicks. Each time you are finished playing one street, you can click on the previous branch to keep it out of the way.

Here are just some of the things you will learn from this guide:
  • You have 77 in the small blind, villain bets from cut-off and you called. On the flop, you have two pairs. Villain checks. What do you do?
  • Playing under the gun, you have TT, villain, from the button, 3bets lite... you decided to call. On the flop, your hand doesn't improve and villain cbets half pot. Are you ahead or behind?
  • a few more common situations that you might find on the felt.

Let me show you how it works...

Let's say you are on preflop. You want to know if you should play the hole cards that you have been dealt, and how to play it. Simply click on the branch that says "preflop" and it will open up a new branch.

Now, it's asking you what hole cards were dealt to you. Click on that branch that says "hole cards" to see more options.

Let's say, you have a pair of Kings (KK), you then click on that branch that says "Any pair," then click on that branch that says "AA to JJ." Finally, click on where you are at on the table and find my suggestions on which action to take.

Subsequent branches will show the hole cards that you have, then the next branch shows your position on the table. After you click on the branch that matches your position on your table, you then find the branch that will suggest what actions you should take depending on the action that went before you.

So as not to clutter your work space, simply click to unfold those branches that you are not playing. With just one click, you will find the information that you need, when you need it.
